Language and Literacy
Building a robust vocabulary is essential in shaping the written, oral, and reading skills of the learner. Language is a stage that introduces letter identification, phonics, writing, and sentence construction.
In life, language and communication skills play a crucial role in childcare. These concepts are essential in moulding the personal (being) and social (belonging) aspects of their character. Language is one of the foundations that need to be developed at an early age. As educators, our responsibility at Lotus Montessori is to deliver the best teachings in this curriculum.
Part of our initiative is introducing books and reading them to the children, promoting healthy discussions about the story. For younger learners, they can become aware of language through music and rhymes. We also use visual aids to give the children a clearer perspective of language and literacy.
Language Montessori materials
Guided by the founder’s Montessori philosophy, we prepare various materials to assist in developing your child’s speaking and writing skills. These visual resources pique their interest and capture their attention effectively. The materials are designed to promote concentration and give the children confidence to explore and learn.
Honing the child’s verbal and written communication skills is vital in preparing them for later learning. Lotus Montessori takes the pressure off learning vocabulary, sentences, and other concepts by incorporating games and music. Children will learn to love language through stories, poetry, and songs that open the doors to their imagination.
